Biography

Abraham Buford (1747–1833) was a military officer whose service spanned the Revolutionary War era and the early years of the American republic. He participated in the military campaigns that secured American independence and contributed to the defense of the young nation during its formative decades.

Buford's long life allowed him to witness the transformation of the thirteen colonies into an established nation. His military service and dedication to his country were recognized throughout his life. He was laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery, a place of honor befitting his service and sacrifice.
