Biography

Ágoston Bárány trained as a lawyer and built a reputation in Makó for defending the legal rights of communities and speaking for the modernization that the kingdom's reformers sought in 1848.

When the revolution raised hopes for a fairer Hungary, he lent his voice and counsel to the cause before the conflict claimed him in 1849, leaving behind colleagues who remembered him as a diligent advocate for justice.
