Albemarle Cady
1807–1888 (age 81)
Biography
Albemarle Cady devoted his life to the United States Army, spending years on frontier duty and leading troops during the Civil War with calm discipline and a respect for each soldier in his command. His steady leadership helped sustain garrisons far from home and ensured that their missions were carried out with care.
Retiring after long service, he remained a model of integrity to young officers, and Old North Cemetery now preserves the memory of the faithful officer who served his country in both peace and war.
