Alfred Terry

Biography

General Alfred Terry (1827–1890) served with distinction during the Civil War and later led troops in the vast American West, always carrying himself with calm determination and a careful regard for those under his command.

His courage and leadership left a lasting mark on the nation, and the tranquil slopes of Grove Street Cemetery now keep his memory close to the community he helped to protect.
