Biography
Brigadier General Andrew B. Drum (1883–1955) spent much of his career in the United States Marine Corps, executing expeditionary assignments and overseeing training for the Corps’ emerging role overseas. During World War I and throughout the interwar years he helped shape the capabilities of Marine units, emphasizing readiness and the integration of amphibious doctrine.
Drum remained a mentor to Marines even after his retirement, keeping alive the traditions of honor and service that marked his leadership. His remains were laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery among fellow Marines and servicemembers.
