Biography

Arnulfo Trejo (1922–2002) was a pioneering Chicano studies educator who helped create pathways for students to explore Latino history, culture, and achievements. He forged academic programs and associations that gave voice to often-overlooked perspectives, believing deeply in the power of education to transform lives.

Trejo’s mentorship extended far beyond the classroom: he encouraged young scholars to value their heritage, championed bilingual efforts, and modeled generosity so that future educators might continue his work.
