Biography

Blackshear M. Bryan matured into a trusted Army leader over the course of more than four decades of service, guiding units through the transition from the world war that ended in 1945 to the tensions of the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. His experience in higher level staff and field assignments ensured that strategy and supply flowed together with discipline.

Retired to the West Point community, he remained a mentor to young officers and a steady presence at Academy ceremonies, eventually finding rest in the cemetery with peers who had shared his path.
