Caroline Harrison

Biography

Caroline Lavina Harrison brought to the White House a deep appreciation for the arts and a gentle but firm leadership, transforming the residence into a place of cultural engagement and restoration during Benjamin Harrison's presidency.

She also championed women's organizations, helped found what became the Daughters of the American Revolution, and left a legacy of civic service remembered by visitors to Crown Hill Cemetery.
