Charles Gardner

Biography

Charles Gardner, born in 1814, watched over the Willamette Valley as it matured from farmland to bustling townships, offering his talents as a neighbor and practical co-laborer in the building of roads, churches, and schools.

He remained engaged with the civic life around Lone Fir Cemetery, where residents of the city looked to him as a builder of relationships and a patient steward of shared values.
