Chief Comcomly, born in 1765, served as a respected Chinook leader and as a bridge between cultures, guiding his people with wisdom as trade and new neighbors changed the currents of the Columbia River.

Ilwaco Cemetery is now the place that honors his resting place and the legacy of generosity and diplomacy he shared with travelers and neighbors alike.
