Dmitry Obolensky

Biography

Dmitry Obolensky was a member of the Russian nobility who lived through a period of significant upheaval in his homeland. He spent his later years in Nice, where he became part of the Russian émigré community that flourished on the French Riviera during the early twentieth century.

Obolensky's life spanned nearly nine decades, witnessing the transformation of Russia from imperial power to revolutionary state. He found refuge in the welcoming environment of Nice, where he lived among fellow Russian expatriates until his death in 1931.
