Edna Maison, born in 1892, lent her resonant voice to the jazz and blues of her day, bringing soulful renditions to clubs and concert halls where listeners felt the strength of her musical storytelling.
Her creative spirit inspired other singers and listeners alike, and when she passed in 1946 she left a legacy of melody and emotion still cherished by those who treasure early twentieth-century American song; she is interred at Calvary Cemetery.
