Biography

Eduard Bloch, born in Austria in 1872, emigrated to the United States and became a physician known for quiet compassion, treating immigrant and working families with the same care he offered his earliest patients in Europe. He once provided care to the Hitler family before their notoriety, yet he remained focused on the needs of every person who came to his door.

In New York he practiced for decades, earning the respect of colleagues for his calm demeanor, attention to detail, and dedication to Jewish communal life. He died in 1945, leaving behind a legacy of kindness remembered at Beth David Cemetery.
