Francis M. Case

Biography

Francis M. Case moved west in the spirit of growth, practicing law in the Dakota Territory and winning election as one of the first U.S. Representatives from South Dakota when it joined the Union.

During his term he focused on the needs of settlers, supporting measures that encouraged responsible development of the Plains and remaining engaged in civic affairs until his passing.
