George Goodwin Kilburne, born in 1839, captured domestic grace in watercolours and oils, lending delicate detail to interiors and scenes of genteel company.

His work was prized by collectors and fellow artists alike, and after he died in 1924 his remains were laid to rest in Highgate Cemetery, a peaceful neighbour of many friends.
