Biography
George McCall Courts answered the call to serve in the Marine Corps at a time when the nation was extending its influence overseas, and he became known for calm leadership in the demanding operations that defined the early twentieth century. Fellow Marines relied on his courage and discipline whenever the service was called upon for crises around the globe.
He remained a quiet example of devotion to duty, mentoring younger Marines and standing by the values of loyalty and perseverance through many years of active service, and he now rests in Arlington National Cemetery alongside those who shared his commitment.
