Biography

George Westinghouse transformed American industry with Westinghouse Electric and his championing of alternating current, bringing safer and more reliable power to cities and factories across the nation.

His inventive spirit extended to railroad safety and engineering education, and his concern for the well-being of workers and communities reflected a deep sense of civic responsibility as he was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery.
