Biography
Grand Duchess Alexandra Nikolaevna of Russia (1825–1844) was a member of the Russian Imperial family, daughter of Tsar Nicholas I. Though her life was brief, lasting only nineteen years, she held an important position within the Romanov dynasty and represented the hopes and continuity of the imperial succession during the reign of her father.
Alexandra Nikolaevna's early death was a significant loss to the imperial family and the Russian state. She was interred in the Peter and Paul Cathedral in St. Petersburg, the traditional burial place of Russian emperors and members of the imperial family, a final resting place befitting her rank and station within the Russian Empire.
