Biography

Gustavus Tuckerman (1785–1860) was a member of the prominent Tuckerman family of New England, a lineage known for its contributions to American intellectual and cultural life. He lived during a formative period in American history, witnessing the nation's early growth and development.

Tuckerman's life reflected the values and pursuits of his distinguished family and social circle. He was laid to rest in Mount Auburn Cemetery, where many of New England's most respected citizens found their final resting place.
