Biography

Hashimoto Tsuneko lived during the final decades of the Edo period, a time of profound change in Japanese society. Her life spanned the years leading up to and including the Boshin Restoration, one of the most significant transitions in Japanese history.

Tsuneko was interred at Zōjō-ji Temple, one of Japan's most prominent Buddhist temples located in Tokyo. Her burial at this sacred site reflects the spiritual traditions and social standing of her family during this transformative period.
