Henry Clay Taylor

Biography

Henry Clay Taylor entered the Navy as the Civil War began and served in blockading squadrons, demonstrating seamanship that carried him up through the ranks of the rapidly modernizing fleet.

He went on to hold senior commands, oversee training and navigation, and help prepare the Navy for extended service abroad, leaving a legacy remembered at Arlington National Cemetery where he rests.
