Biography

Infanta María del Pilar of Spain was a member of the Spanish royal family whose brief life was marked by her position within one of Europe's most prominent dynasties. As an infanta, she represented the continuity of the Spanish monarchy during the nineteenth century.

Though her life was cut short, María del Pilar's place within the royal family and her burial at the Pantheon of the Infantes of the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial reflect the significance of her royal lineage and the honor accorded to members of the Spanish royal house.
