Ivie Anderson, born in 1905, became one of the most beloved voices of the Jazz Age through her work with Duke Ellington's orchestra, where she sang signature pieces such as 'Solitude' and 'It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)'. Her warm tone and impeccable phrasing helped define the sound of the swing era, and she captivated audiences not only in club dates but on the radio and in short films.

Even after she stepped away from the limelight due to health challenges, her artistry continued to inspire younger singers, and her contributions remain alive in the recordings that still enchant listeners.
