James Cogswell

Biography

James Cogswell (1720–1807) lived an exceptionally long life spanning eighty-seven years. He witnessed the transformation of America from colonial territory through independence and into the early years of the republic, experiencing profound historical changes throughout his lifetime.

Cogswell was interred in the Old North Cemetery, where his long life and enduring legacy are commemorated among the community's historical records.
