James Duggan

Biography

Born in Limerick in 1825, James Duggan soon answered a vocation that led him to shepherd the faithful in Chicago, where he guided the Diocese with a compassionate heart.

Despite the burdens of illness in later years, he remained beloved by priests and laypeople alike, and he passed away in 1899, resting now at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
