Biography

James Foster Riddell upheld the responsibilities of a military officer with dignified resolve, leading others in the face of tremendous challenge. His experience and leadership were relied upon by the men who served alongside him as the war pressed on across the trenches and battlefields of Europe.

He now lies at Tyne Cot Cemetery, where his name is part of the larger testimony to those who gave their lives in the service of their nations. His memory persists among the tributes paid by those who continue to reflect upon the cost of that great struggle.
