Stephen Hamilton Dix

Biography

Stephen Hamilton Dix (1879–1917) was a military officer whose service during the First World War demonstrated the leadership and courage demanded of those in command. He lived through a period that tested the resolve of an entire generation.

Dix is honored at Tyne Cot Cemetery, where he rests among the many officers and soldiers who gave their lives in service to their nation during the Great War.
