Biography

James Webb was born in 1795 and lived during a pivotal era in American development. His lifetime witnessed the consolidation of the young nation and the rapid expansion of settlements across the frontier, particularly in the Ohio Valley region.

Webb was a resident of the Cincinnati area, where he was interred at Spring Grove Cemetery upon his death in 1833. His relatively brief life was nonetheless lived during a formative period, and he remains part of the historical record of those who built the communities of the American heartland.
