Biography
Jasper Packard (1832–1899) answered the call to service and stood with others who defended the ideals of the republic, bringing honor to his family through his willingness to serve. He carried himself with quiet courage and a sense of duty.
His comrades and kin still recall him with affection, and he lies in the Indiana Soldiers Home Cemetery, a place dedicated to remembering those who took up the soldier's calling.
