Lyons Wakeman

Biography

Lyons Wakeman was born in 1843 and answered the call to military service during America's Civil War. As a soldier, he represented the countless young men who sacrificed their lives during the nation's greatest conflict, serving with dedication to the cause for which he fought.

Wakeman's service and sacrifice are honored at Chalmette National Cemetery, where he was laid to rest in 1864. His memory endures as part of the solemn record of those who gave their lives during the Civil War era.
