Biography

Joc-O-Sot, a celebrated member of the Meskwaki people, earned admiration through his eloquence and dignity as he traveled with theatrical troupes and shared the stories of his nation across the young republic.

After his final performances, he found rest in Cleveland, where he passed in 1844 and was laid to rest at Erie Street Cemetery, leaving behind a legacy of cultural exchange and grace.
