Samuel Cowles

Biography

Samuel Cowles witnessed the transformation of the Western Reserve from untamed frontier to emerging town, devoting himself to the steady work of helping neighbors settle and prosper.

He remained a valued presence in the Erie Street area until his passing in 1837 and was interred in Erie Street Cemetery, remembered for the quiet constancy he brought to the community.
