Biography

John Green Hoapili, a high chief and legislator, carried the weight of ancestral responsibility with loyalty, helping to record family histories and advocating for the rights of his people during turbulent times.

He served in the Hawaiian government with a measured voice, always mindful of tradition, and he was laid to rest at Kawaiahaʻo Church in 1896, where his devotion to his lineage remains honored.
