John Pickering

Biography

John Pickering was a learned and respected member of the Portsmouth community during the late eighteenth century. He lived through the American Revolution and contributed to the intellectual and civic life of his time.

His memory is honored at Old North Cemetery, where he was interred in 1805. Pickering's life from 1737 to 1805 represents the dedication of those who helped establish the American republic.
