Biography
John Wannuaucon Quinney, a leader of the Stockbridge-Munsee people, traveled to Washington with heartfelt pleas for respect and protection of his community’s lands, composing eloquent addresses that testified to his people’s rights.
He then stood beside his neighbors through times of relocation and renewal, keeping their traditions alive and returning home to be laid to rest at the Stockbridge Indian Cemetery.
