Biography
John Young came from the sea and became a trusted advisor to Kamehameha I, guiding the kingdom through its earliest negotiations with foreign powers and helping to lay the foundations for a monarchy with both Hawaiian and Western knowledge.
He spent decades bridging cultures, training Hawaiian seamen, and nurturing a large family that carried on his legacy, and he is honored at the Royal Mausoleum of Hawaii.
