Joseph Petrosino

Biography

Joseph Petrosino immigrated to America and rose through the ranks of the New York Police Department, forming the famed Italian Squad to protect immigrant communities from extortion.

He traveled to Palermo to pursue members of the Black Hand and was assassinated there, but his bravery and sacrifice inspired reforms on both sides of the Atlantic.
