Joseph Schrembs

Biography

Joseph Schrembs brought a deep pastoral sensitivity to his work as bishop, first shepherding the faithful in Columbus and later in Cleveland during years that demanded both courage and compassion. He encouraged Catholic education and social outreach, believing the Church should respond to the moral and material needs of every person.

His life of devotion is honored at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, where he was laid to rest and where his steady guidance still inspires.
