Biography
Judith Marquet-Krause (1906–1936) studied archaeology in Europe before making Palestine her home, where she combined scholarly rigor with an artist's eye to uncover the past.
She led early excavations at Tel Yokneam, publishing meticulous reports that traced the site's successive civilizations, and her untimely death left colleagues mourning a promising scholar whose grave now rests in Trumpeldor cemetery.
