Biography

Judson Allen, born in 1797, began his adult life in mercantile pursuits and brought the same practical wisdom to his service as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from New York, where he championed the transportation and educational needs of his district.

Even after leaving Washington, he remained engaged in civic life, advising on infrastructure improvements and encouraging the moral training of the next generation.
