Biography

Louis Chauvin made his mark as a gifted composer and pianist in the early ragtime movement, sharing in the vibrant musical culture of St. Louis and collaborating with leading artists of his era.

Though his life was brief, his musical touch helped shape a uniquely American form, and he is interred at Calvary Cemetery.
