Lowndes Henry Davis, born in 1836, devoted much of his life to mentoring youth and sustaining the Maple Hill community through patient counsel and dependable kindness.

He welcomed neighbors into his world with a ready smile, lifting spirits during trying seasons, and his memory is preserved beneath the comforting shade of Maple Hill Cemetery.
