Biography
Margaret Bliss devoted her life to nurturing family and community in the years leading up to and following the Civil War, becoming a respected figure in the Oconee Hill neighborhood. Her warmth and hospitality offered comfort during the most uncertain days of the century, and she met each season with quiet courage.
Though records of her deeds are sparse, the memory of her faithful presence endures among those who gather in the cemetery she now shares with so many of the city's beloved citizens.
