Mary Dorothy Lyndon devoted her short life to nurturing the cultural and intellectual spirit of Athens, Georgia, embracing every opportunity to promote the arts and scholarship among her neighbors.

She is remembered at Oconee Hill Cemetery where friends still recall her gentle leadership and the encouragement she gave women entering college and community work.
