Margaret Crane

Biography

Margaret Crane was born in 1789 and lived through one of the most dynamic periods in American history. Her life encompassed the early republic through the mid-19th century, witnessing tremendous social and economic transformation.

Crane passed away in 1859 at an advanced age and was laid to rest at Mount Auburn Cemetery. Her long life provided a living connection to America's formative era and the changes that shaped the nation's development.
