Biography

Marion Talbot was a pioneer in women's education, serving as the first dean of women at the University of Chicago and tirelessly promoting the advancement of female scholars at a time when higher education was changing rapidly. She helped found the American Association of University Women and used her leadership to create new networks of support for women pursuing academic and civic careers.

Her writings and organizational work kept the doors of universities wide open for future generations, and her legacy is honored by those who visit her resting place at Mount Auburn Cemetery.
