Biography

Martin Van Buren Jr. was the son of Martin Van Buren, the eighth President of the United States. Though living in the shadow of his father's prominent political career, he maintained his own place in the community of Kinderhook, New York.

Van Buren Jr.'s life, though shorter than his father's, was spent in the region that shaped his family's legacy. He was laid to rest at Kinderhook Cemetery, near the ancestral home of his distinguished family.
