Moxley Sorrel

Biography

Moxley Sorrel, born in 1838, devoted years to military service, rising to the rank of officer and leading men with steadiness and care during uncertain times.

After leaving active duty he remained connected to veterans and local affairs, offering counsel and support in the Savannah community that cherished his steady judgment, and he is laid to rest in Laurel Grove North Cemetery, where friends come to honor his service.
