Nathan Dudley

Biography

Nathan Dudley began his commissioned service in the U.S. Army before the Civil War and remained a steady presence through that conflict and the subsequent Indian campaigns, earning a reputation for disciplined command of infantry posts.

Long after he laid down his saber, he maintained close ties with veterans and the communities that supported soldiers, and his resting place on the hillside of Arlington National Cemetery keeps alive the memory of a career dedicated to defending the Republic.
