John Pegram

Biography

John Pegram, born in 1832, was trained as an engineer and applied that precision to his service in the Confederate cavalry, where he carried out campaigns with a thoughtful blend of strategy and bravery.

His career was cut short in 1865, but his dedication to duty and his quiet sense of honor left an impression on comrades who recalled him as a leader willing to share every hardship until the end.
